- Orders can be canceled before the status becomes “To Ship – Awaiting Collection.” After that, it’s a return, not a cancellation.
- Sellers manage this in Seller Center → Orders; buyers cancel from Your Orders in the app.
- Once an order is canceled, the seller must issue the refund within 5 calendar days.
Whether you’re a seller who needs to cancel an order or a buyer who changed their mind, timing is everything on TikTok Shop — there’s a short window before the order locks in for shipping. Here’s how it works on both sides.

How buyers cancel an order
- Open the TikTok app and tap your profile, then the menu → Your Orders.
- Tap the order you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel order, choose a reason, and confirm.
You can only do this before the seller marks it shipped. If Cancel order is greyed out, the item is already on its way — you’ll need to request a return once it arrives.
How sellers cancel an order
- Go to Seller Center → Orders.
- Find the order — it must still be unshipped (before “To Ship – Awaiting Collection”).
- Select Cancel, choose a reason (out of stock, buyer request, address issue), and confirm.
- Issue the refund within 5 calendar days of the cancellation.
You can also review and approve buyer cancellation requests here. Set your defaults under Fulfillment Settings → Cancellations.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel after the order ships?
No. Once it’s shipped, cancellation is off the table — the buyer requests a return or refund after delivery instead.
When does the buyer get their money back?
Sellers must refund within 5 calendar days of a cancellation. The money then takes a few days to land back on the buyer’s original payment method.
Does canceling hurt my shop?
Occasional cancellations are normal, but a high seller-cancellation rate (especially out-of-stock) damages your account health and can limit your shop. Keep inventory accurate to avoid it.
